[The subject of today's video is Dio's Zubat which flutters in and out of the view of the camera. He's still not used to actually filming anything, so keeping it on screen is hardly his main concern at the moment.

As for where he is, he's not stupid. He read the evil villain handbook and figured it's not a good idea to show off anything pertaining to that (not that he minds showing off), so once the day's training was done (as if they could teach him anything), he decided the grass just outside town would be the best place to learn how to use this weird thing.]

Tell me, what exactly am I meant to do with such a creature? Where I come from, these things are usually seen as pests, if not worse, but if this handbook is to believed, I'm actually supposed to care for the thing.

[He'll omit sharing with the viewer which handbook he's read.]

I don't doubt that's the case, but still, being newly arrived to this world, I would like some reassurance. After all, if I'm meant to travel the land, collecting badges with such a baffling creature, it would comfort me to know someone else has done the same.

[And perhaps they'll tell him of their Pokemon and their accomplishments as well. After all, he's one of their own. A trainer. Why wouldn't they share with him?]

Well, your original question was rather vague. Though while I haven't raised a zubat specifically, I've found that generally an individual pokemon's personality is a greater factor than its species.

I must say, you're one of the first to actually say something positive about it. Here I was under the impression I'd been stuck with some sort of ordinary pest, but if it's worth investing time into it, I can clearly see I was given poor information.

So one's success as a trainer is not only measured by their accolades but also by the creatures they choose to command.

[Makes sense to him. For trainers, the two go hand in hand, right? Even for this whole Rocket business he's been drafted into, it seems like one's Pokemon are the keys to their success. But he's sure he can make anything work.]

Then, in your opinion, which would say is the most challenging Pokemon to raise?

Not everyone would agree- I'm sure some would say Dragon types are more difficult to command, and to some extent they are- but Psychic types are undoubtedly some of the most intelligent. They have the ability to communicate through Telepathy, which is something most other Pokemon can't do.

If you are asking about a specific Pokemon...I would say anything from Abra's line: Abra, Kadabra, or Alakazam. One of the strongest Psychic types, in my opinion, but also one of the most...opinionated.

Why, of course! As I said, I'm happy to answer anything I can. As for myself, it's been just a bit over a year now; it's October, by the local reckoning of things, and I arrived in late September, a year ago.

[That's...mildly irritating. It'd be more so if he wasn't completely fine with the complete destruction of Jonathan Joestar taking however long it takes, but still, that's a year of that idiot not having to deal with Dio. And that is hardly fair. Then again, knowing Jojo, that's a year of crying over his stupid dog and putting his life back in order for Dio to aggressively Dio at it, so he can deal with it. Still irritating though.]

That must have been quite the adjustment. From what I've seen so far, this world is far more advanced than what I'm used to.

And yet somewhat less so as well. I've yet to see a single carriage, but at the same time, nothing that seems to have replaced them either.

Of course I've played games. Chess is a favorite of mine. But...on this contraption?

Oh, yes, very much so! I was quite lucky, really — a very pleasant gentleman came to my assistance early on, and served as a most admirable guide while I adjusted to things. I'm sure I wouldn't have done half so well as I did, without his help.

And while it's true there are no carriages, there are horses, at least, to make travel simpler by riding them. They're not so very hard to come by, really, if one doesn't mind the...er. Fire.

Pokemon training is like training yourself for a fight or a marathon run, you get out of it what you put into it. Yeah, Zubat are pretty common, but that doesn't mean they have no worth at all to train, and there's loads of different things you can do to enhance them and make up for any weak points. If you put enough time into it, it has a second and final form that it can change into.

[Give her a moment while she attaches two pictures into a message for Dio to view.]

Despite that, you will want to catch more Pokemon to balance out Zubat's type disadvantages. For people that have just arrived like you, breeders that sell eggs will give them out at a reduced or free price, so you can look into that if you want.

[Besides, he can teach it to WRYYYYYYY with Supersonic.]

Its personality? Where I come from, how well they're trained matters more. Even the most playful mutt won't slobber on a random stranger if it's been properly trained.

[And that's spoken with the authority of someone who knows what they're talking about. Which is a little silly because he really has no idea what he's talking about.]

Ah, I suppose temperament would be a better term.... but either way, it's really about finding the best training method for the individual pokemon, rather than assuming that because it's a particular type the same things will always work. Gyarados are known to typically be rather aggressive, for example, yet a friend of mine has one that's quite timid, so needless to say his training methods would likely differ from others with the same species.

[Take a guy who can't handle losing and put him against someone who excels at games...this is a terrible idea. Really. He has no idea what sort of hell he's walking into here.]

Very well, after all, it would be rude of me to decline, but please, give me some time to learn how to play a game on a device such as this. After all, I'd like to play at my best, and I, Dio, would hardly make for memorable competition if I'm still learning the ropes.

Of course. You can just call me or text me on the gear whenever you're ready to play...it doesn't matter what time it is. For a match, I'll wake up. Even if it's really really early or really really late...

Then it's settled. I, Dio, shall procure one of these creatures and train it to obey my every command.

[And indeed, after a bit of camera jostling and the scenery changing to an outdoor setting instead of the interior of a house, there's the sound of a Pokeball opening and within moments, a Rapidash comes into view.]

There, this is Charlemagne. Even with the fire, he's rather handsome, isn't he?

[...oh man, this guy. It's a good thing he chose audio for this, because even he can't help the smirk that sneaks into his expression at those words.]

Well then, be sure to let me know how that goes. I've owned and trained all three evolutions, so I'm interested to see how well you can train one.
